Facilities | Outside |
| Outside the classrooms we have one main, large play area as well as two, slightly smaller play areas specifically designed for the younger children. All three are completely shaded and have an astro-turf flooring. They are well equipped with playhouses, climbing equipment, slides, cars and trikes as well as a large sandbox. There is plenty of room for the children to run around and playtime is always a good opportunity for learning to share and making new friends. In addition there are shaded, paved areas around the school which we use for sand and water play and other activities in the cooler months. Our real pride and joy is the large, grassed play area at the front of the school which is enjoyed by all of the classes during nice weather. There are many different uses for this area as it has a large, roofed gazebo with seating, big enough to hold an entire class; a running track which can also be used for cars and bikes; planting beds for the children to learn about growing plants and flowers; and seating areas for a story, or simply for a rest! There are also large areas of lush, green grass which are used for games, flying kites, hunting for bugs, picnics and free play. We aim to get the children outside several times a week when the weather is suitable for all-important exercise and fresh air. |
