The Sapphire Class opened in January 2007 and is a pre-school class of 25 children aged approximately 2 years old. The adult:child ratio is 1:5. The classroom is welcoming and cosy with child-size comfy chairs and soft toys. The children in this class learn through play and singing and are introduced to numbers, shapes and colours.

Emphasis is on language development and social skills, and early fine motor skills are introduced through painting, colouring with chubby crayons, threading activities and arts and crafts. There are lots of other fun activities to choose from including play-dough, puzzles, sand and water play, the home corner, and of course, plenty of toys.

There are daily singing and story times as well as regular dance and movement sessions and opportunities for dressing up and playing musical instruments. Sapphire and Ruby classes share a large, shaded play area with plenty of large play equipment and cars. The children enjoy a P.E once a week as well as lots of games and free play.
