| We had a visit from 'Flat Stanley'! Flat Stanley is a paper doll that has been taken from a book by Jeff Brown. Schools send them to other schools around the world so that the children can learn about where other children live and what they do. Flat Stanley was sent to one of the children in the Topaz class from the Pippa Pop-ins school in London, UK. We dressed flat Stanley in a traditional clothes and took pictures of him enjoying a day at our school! The children really enjoyed the Flat Stanley story; so much so that we are going to buy the book and have a Flat stanley of our own next year! |

| In April Little Gems held a 'Traffic Awareness Week' which aimed to improve driving standards on and off school premises and encourage parents to use seatbelts and appropriate child restraints. The children got involved by learning the Green Cross Code, learning songs and rhymes about road safety, colouring in relevant pictures and talking about road safety at story and circle times. We also received a visit from a Traffic Policeman who gave a talk and showed the children a slideshow. |
