What Was On ?(2006-2007)

The Nursery children celebrated the end of the year with a Graduation Ball. 49 children enjoyed a delicious banquet followed by party games and dancing. They were then presented with their graduation hat, commemorative sash and end of year report to take home.

The staff were very busy in May undertaking a course in First aid for children and infants. It was a great course and thankfully we all passed with flying colours! Thanks again to Pam Kamal for her time and for an interesting, very informative course.

The children in Emerald and Topaz classes enjoyed learning all about 'Living in Bahrain'. As well as trying traditional Arabic food and dancing to Arabic music the children have dressed up in Traditional costumes and have enjoyed story and circle times in their own Arabic tent! They have even learned to count up to 10 in Arabic and how to speak a few simple phrases. Highlights of the topic included visits to Al Areen wildlife Park, the National Museum and Al Jasra Handicraft Cente, pictures of which are featured below.

Emerald and Topaz classes held a 'National Day' as part of their 'All about Me' topic. The children and their parents all made a great effort and it was great to see all the children come to school in their national dress with a plate of food originating from their home countries. We had great fun trying all the different foods, especially the delicious home made guacamole!

In February we held a tree planting ceremony to commemorate moving to our new premises. Each class planted their own tree and were given a special plaque. As you can see we had lots of fun digging the soil and watering the trees!

Also in February, Emerald and Topaz classes went on a trip to upstairs Downstairs restaurant to watch a pancake making demonstration. The children had coloured a special picture for the chef and also sung him their pancake song. Everyone enjoyed eating the delicious pancakes!
